We all use sand and gravel on a daily basis for tasks and products you not be
aware of. A.L Blair Construction
specializes in providing construction supplies such as aggregate gravel to various projects and contractors around the
Eastern Ontario region. Sand and
gravel are apart of virtually everything that we do
from filtering the water that we drink, building the homes we live in, products
we use inside of our homes, landscaping outside of our homes and so much more.
Living in an urban or suburban community, people of all kinds require the use
of aggregate gravel and stone quarries.
Stone quarries play an
important role in the production and process of aggregate gravel. A.L Blair has
various stone quarries where the aggregate gravel, sand and stone is extracted, managed, organized and then
distributed. Without stone quarries
there would not be such a plentiful amount of aggregate gravel to go around to
many people who need it. A.L Blair Construction is a lead supplier in aggregate gravel in the Ottawa and
Eastern Ontario region and is founded on customer and employee satisfaction. A.L Blair Construction is located in the
village of Moose Creek, Ontario but supplies aggregate gravel to the Ottawa including outskirts such as
Prescott, Stormount, Glengarry and Dundas.
You may not realize just how important aggregate gravel is, until you examine
it further in depth, since you don’t have extra time for that, it will be
summarized for you here. Firstly, aggregate gravel and sand is used in urban
dwellings such as condominiums or high-rise buildings. Let’s start off with
what aggregate gravel is used for on
the exterior such as the structure and roofing. For the building structure aggregate gravel is used to make
concrete and brick and also the following: building foundation, mortar,
columns, underground parking lots, concrete roof, and balconies. Sand and gravel are also used in the
primary stages of building the structure for the building bedding which
consists of a compacted gravel bed below the building including bedding and
fill for water, sewer and storm drain pipes.
In an urban setting, aggregate
gravel is also used for subways, and Streetcar systems. It is used to
create the under ground tunnels for subways and the gravel around the tracks.
In a suburban setting aggregate gravel is used for some of the same objects as listed
above, but there are also more uses for aggregate
gravel in order to make concrete in this setting. In a suburban location
that is built –up but tucked away from the city, sand and gravel are used for your very own playgrounds and baseball
diamonds. The gravel and sand used
in playgrounds comes from somewhere, it did not magically appear there. For
skate parks and bike trails aggregate
gravel is also used and is extremely useful because it would be difficult
to find a replacement. Some things that you may not have thought that aggregate gravel is used for is for
consumer products that are found inside homes such as sand is used in fiberglass insulation, ceramic tiles, glassware,
corning ware, toothpaste and even cosmetics, paint and cleaning agents, who knew!
